People often ask me for a printed list of stretches to do at home. Many people attempt to learn stretching exercises from printouts with little pictures and diagrams; or by watching videos; with varying results.


I find it much more effective to start by directly demonstrating three or four stretches that will make an immediate difference for the specific issues you are most challenged by, then add more stretches later. I often take pictures for you to refer to at home that are specific to your level of flexibility.


Most of the stretches I recommend are based on the teachings of “the father of modern yoga,” B.K.S. Iyengar. I learned these by attending yoga classes three times a week for ten years at the Ventura Yoga Studio

with Bryan Legere; and numerous weekend workshops with Aadil Palkhivala.
